How group stage works

Every team plays the other three teams in their group once. Three points for a win, one for a draw. The top two teams in each group advance to the knockout round. Eight of the third-place teams (the eight with the most points) also advance, since 2026 is the first 48-team tournament.

Group-winner odds reward picking the team that finishes first in the standings. Reach-knockouts odds reward any path to the round of 32, including third-place qualification.
